State staff members are adapting to the new socially distant environment by continuing their education mission in the virtual world:

• Conservation director Romey Swanson was the first guest of a virtual Speaker Series hosted by Travis Audubon. He spoke on the rich biodiversity of Texas' Colorado River. Video of his talk can be viewed below:

• Coastal program manager Alexis Baldera was a featured panelist on a National Audubon Society webinar on coastal bird stewardship on the Gulf Coast. In her presentation, Alexis talked about how the roots of the Audubon Society can be found in the campaigns to save Gulf coastal birds at the end of the 19th century. She also discussed the history of the coastal warden program in Texas. To view the Facebook video, click here.
